The EZ-alpha THAL Immunochromatographic Strip Test is a qualitative, lateral flow immunoassay for the screening of various types of Alpha (±) Thalassemia traits in whole blood.

Alpha (±) Thalassemia is an inherited autosomal recessive blood disease, a genetic defect that results in the formation of abnormal hemoglobin molecules. The varying degrees of Alpha (±) Thalassemia can have a wide range of effect on the human body, from feeling of weakness or fatigue in general to reduced scholastic performance in school-going children, toxemia of pregnancy, or in some cases dead at birth.
